The Gypsy

2008 has involved some serious traveling. In February we celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line to Miami/Roatan, Honduras/Belize City, Belize/Cozumel, Mexico/Grand Stirrip Cay, Bahamas/ and then back to Miami. After our cruise our family had a long week-end up in Leavenworth in March with Joe's work. We ate way too much, played in the snow, and swam in the two pools-one indoor one outdoor. The breakfast buffet was great too--we got to hear the "ricola" guy each morning. Our children all enjoyed their first ski lessons at Stevens Pass. Nolan's instructor was impressed by how well he had done, especially after he realized this was his first time on skis, EVER. In May we headed to Sun Valley, Idaho with Joe's work again and did some wonderful hiking and biking. Upon returning from Sun Valley we headed to Disneyland for an interesting week of too much stimulus for our three kids. After school let out we headed down to the Great Wolf Lodge for an overnighter to thank our kids for doing such a great job in school all year long. That place was fun.....water park on steroids. Joe and the kids then headed to Michigan for two weeks of fun filled Nonnie and Papa and cousin time. After camping this week-end in Winthrop and then one more camp trip to Orcas Island this summer, this has been a whirlwind year of traveling. I LOVE to travel. I love seeing new places and the joy of setting up house in a new spot. Joe and I will live the retired american dream in a big RV in a few years, but for now this will have to do. I feel for my children and spouse that may or may not be home bodies, but that is definitely not me. Call me the "gypsy". 2008 isn't even over yet.....

Winthrop in the Summer

Here we are in sunny Winthrop. This may be a long Krawczak Family tradition.....to enjoy the heat of Eastern Washington each summer. Today after breakfast we headed to the fish hatchery. Not just any hatchery, a National Hatchery. We saw beaver, fed the trout, got in trouble for feeding the small fry big fish food, and then used the correct food from the correct buckets and fed the small fry from the right buckets. Next we hiked up to Falls Creek and Joe almost made me a young widow trying to cross a fallen tree. The kids ate their snacks and then we headed back the truck to fill up the gas tank in Twisp. We stopped off at the Saturday Twisp Farmer's Market and then to Hank's to buy a few provisions for dinner tonight. Now I am relaxing at the KOA in Winthrop at the pool telling "Our Story" and hoping this laptop doesn't get drenched by a massive splash by "Cannonball Camree". Until later...
